Our Chess lessons are dedicated to improve academic excellence by encouraging and training our students to become problem solvers, critical thinkers, and admirable leaders. Lessons are held every Sunday in a home-like atmosphere 3PM to 5:30PM.
In 1977, Mr. Geller brought his expertise and love of chess from St. Petersburg, Russia, where he had taught chess to children for 10 years. He pioneered children’s chess education in the United States with the opening of his first school in Manhattan in 1980. In the years to follow he opened schools in Queens and Brooklyn, and in 1986 Mr. Geller founded the New Jersey Children’s Chess School. Arkady established the "Geller Kids" Chess Camp in 1992 devoting his life to the development of a chess program and geared to bring this wonderful game into the lives of New Jersey’s children.
All I want to do, ever, is play chess.
- Bobby Fischer
